Become a Lawful
Permanent Resident!
Asylum allows you to live in the United States, work legally, obtain a green card, and eventually apply for U.S. citizenship. iVisa Legal can assist you in determining if you are eligible to petition the U.S. government for asylum or whether you can apply for a visa to come to the U.S. instead.

What is Asylum?
Asylum is a legal status used in immigration law in the United States; when a person seeks asylum in the US, they are permitted to remain in the country to avoid persecution in their home countries.
You may be eligible for asylum if you enter or request entry into the United States and apply for protection. If the U.S. grants you asylum, you are not required to return to your home country. If an asylee’s long-term goal is achieving U.S. citizenship, our Asylum Attorney in Arizona will discuss an appropriate strategy. Those granted asylum must stay in the United States for one year before applying for an adjustment to lawful resident status. To be eligible for asylum, an individual must request it at a port of entry, file an application within one year of entering the United States, and meet the description of an asylum applicant.
To apply for asylum, you must:
card or US citizenship
returning to your home country.

Understand that it makes no difference
Understand that it makes no difference whether you came legally or illegally; it is also irrelevant if your legal immigration status has expired. Contact iVisa Legal immediately to learn whether you qualify.
iVisa Legal represents asylum seekers in immigration court and at the asylum office, including individuals who have been persecuted or have a well-founded fear of future persecution on account of their religion, ethnic group, political opinion, nationality, or membership in a social group and might be eligible for asylum from the United States. Asylum applications require a significant amount of evidence and planning; asylum generally must be applied for within the first year of entry into the U.S.
